Attention veterinarians and retired doctors: Employment boom ahead!

Huh. Looks like before long lots of lucky Americans will be just like me.

Obama health plan hit by double-digit premium hikes

This is an AP story and the writer is contorting with all his skill and might not to sound like a Trump infomercial, but…

Premiums will go up sharply next year under President Barack Obama’s health care law, and many consumers will be down to just one insurer, the administration confirmed Monday.

Moreover, about 1 in 5 consumers will have plans only from a single insurer to pick from, after major national carriers such as UnitedHealth Group, Humana and Aetna scaled back their roles.

I think that as he looks back on the ‘legacy’ of his eight years of Unlimited Cosmic Power, Obama will decide that actually having the new health care regime named after him was, in the long run, his biggest mistake. In an otherwise brilliant career utterly devoid of mistakes.

Whoa Joel, that’s not the way I remember it happening, and it’s certainly not the title of the actual legislation. I don’t think Obama had anything to do with inventing the name “ObamaCare”, and I’m pretty sure that he hated it, at least at first. When the term “Obamacare” first came on my radar, I remember it used as sort of a taunt from the right side of the political spectrum.

This old article seems to back up my version of events: http://www.thewire.com/politics/2011/10/house-democrats-want-republicans-stop-saying-obamacare/44175/

True, it was concocted by Reid and Pelosi IIRC, but he’s the one who promised it during his campaign (a throwaway line I think), and he signed off on it, after telling everyone that it would offer more and cost less.

Joel, you’ve been out in the sun too long. The problem is entirely the fault of the ignorant, stingy, incompetent and selfish citizens who, fomented into a frenzy by a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy Dedicated to Undermining All Right Thinking People, were just too stupid to use Obamacare correctly.

I remember a very short period when Those Smarter Than Us were pushing the line that using “Obamacare” was racist. Libs cannot handle laughter well, so the effort splashed.

To the stake with the heretic!
