Sometimes a snarky post title will come to me when I’m out doing something else, and I’ll kind of store it away for later use. Applications rarely take long to emerge.
So this morning I was surfing around for Monday morning blogfodder, and came upon this link at Wendy McElroy’s place…
Cops fire 84 shots at robbery suspect, hit him once
And I said, “Ah ha! Clearly, ‘Only Imperial Stormtroopers are so…'” um…is the right quote “precise,” or “accurate?”
So I googled it. And learned I was too late for originality by two years. Dammit.

So never mind.

Shot but missed, did ya?

In the case of the two Hispanic ladies in that truck: Thank God!
If you can’t hit what you aim at, it’s time to lay the gun down and become a meter-maid, if you just need to wear a uniform to validate your existence.
I’d say they’re neither. The would have shot with precision if all the holes were in the side of a barn across town, grouped tightly together. They would have been accurate if they’d hit their target in a group the size of a bushel basket.
Pedantic, I know, but my job, by definition, is all about accuracy & precision, & reporting each to the customer properly (if it matters, I’m a calibration tech).
