Don’t know where we’re going, but there’s no point in being late.

A long time ago, like damn near three years ago, I wrote a post bitching about that old David Grossman metaphor of the wolves, sheepdogs and sheep. Once in a while I still get comments on it, since it comes up on the first page of Google searches. In the past three days, I’ve gotten two.

That’s kind of unusual in itself, but the thing that catches my eye is the hostility of the comments. “fluoro ninja, i think you just created a new category in that continuum….bitch, a mutt who barks harder than its bite.” “You are an ignorant ass.”

“Fluoro ninja” is a new one on me, but I gather from context that it’s not a shining compliment. That’s okay, I’ve been insulted by people who know how to use capitals and punctuation properly, and that doesn’t bother me either. But I do wonder what it is about the piece that makes people mad.
