Don’t trust Leviathan.

Herschel Smith on Manchin-Toomey:

For most people who never work with federal agencies and departments, ignorance is bliss. But for those who do, they know that the nasty little secret about the federal government has to do with lawmaking by regulation.

Via Codrea, I listened to Gottlieb on the Guntalk podcast yesterday as he explained his brilliant strategy for beating Schumer and company at their own game. He was very pleased with himself, in the manner of a fourth-grader who’s come up with this unbreakable code wherein you substitute “1” for “A,”, “2 for “B,” etc. If I didn’t know he’s been around for a long time and should really be smarter than he sounded, I’d have taken him for that schoolboy. Only a naive fool tries to beat the devil with his own dice.

No means no. If the lawmongers get their way, this situation calls for massive noncompliance.

There will be a lot of people who decide to be aggressively noncompliant. I’m wondering if maybe we had some noncompliance in Boston yesterday.

  2. Joel says:

That wasn’t the sort of noncompliance I had in mind.

  3. Bear says:

I think any “aggressive noncompliance over RKBA would target something other than an amateur sporting event. Pending actual data, I doubt that anyone of principles similar to ours is responsible for that. Mainly because my principles would _forbid_ that even if I were otherwise that crazy.

Joel, just to be clear, I wasn’t implying that I thought you would endorse yesterday’s events as a legitimate action. What I was getting at is that there could be someone out there who decided to remind everyone that mass murder comes in more than one flavor.

Problem for the govt is that many of us don’t buy and sell guns through dealers or at gun shows. That number will increase. There are many that won’t bother to tell the govt what guns they give to friends or family members, what kinds of magazines they have etc. from what I’ve read about the bill, non-compliance will be easier than compliance.

I still don’t remember why it was we stopped drawing and quartering some murderers.
The perps in Boston would be Most Eligible IMHO.
What’s that? Cruel and unusual punishment? Not so. Cruel and unusual is setting off anti-personnel IED’s at a sporting event full of minor children.

Trusting Leviathan … Hmmm … that was in jest … right?

    From the I-Double-Checked-&-This-Isn’t-The-Onion Department:
Gottlieb has now withdrawn support of his own S.649 amendment — that he publicly bragged of helping to draft — because it didn’t include provisions he apparently forgot to include.

I’m guessing that his cock-up hit CCRKBA fundraising pretty hard. I coulds tol…. Oh. Wait.

    I did tell him.

To the stake with the heretic!
