I have said repeatedly on this blog that the increasing normalization of armed adults is, in general, a good thing.
But unfortunately there’s this phenomenon called “really embarrassingly doing it wrong.”

Yes, adults wearing shorts in public: Generally a bad idea. Also, I think this guy missed his holster. Or…worse…

Is it hanging from his belt?
Hmmm, if he doesn’t notice when it falls out – somebody will get an early Christmas present. That is if someone doesn’t just take it from where it is and run… 🙂 A little talk about retention and other good gun stuff would probably be wasted on this guy.
It appears to be, yes. And about to cease doing so.
Well at least his knife is secure…when the gun falls out and he shoots himself in the ass he can cut those shorts out of the way and use them as a bandage.
Sadly, Who…Me?, it probably won’t be him who is shot but some kid standing in the general vicinity of him.
Ok devil’s advocate here, there are these little clips that can be attached to the gun allowing for holsterless carry. He could in fact have one of those attached to his “Travon special” Clip Draw and a few other companies make them. However it doesn’t excuse him for wearing those shorts or for exposing his gun for everyone to see or possibly try and steal. FYI I have no problem with open carry of a handgun but I believe if you do it you should be using a holster, preferably with some kind of retention.
Where’s Tam when you need her?
Can’t really tell for sure. Are we sure it’s not in a minimal Yaqui slide??
No way. The grip is all the way under his belt. He stuck it there – possibly missing a IWB holster – and now it’s sliding out.
At least that’s the way I interpret it.
Looks like this guy is trying the Magnum PI style of carry except he failed to stick it down his pants. I too thought of the possibility of a grip clip but the grip is way to far down for the look of it.
Another failure of the 7P Principal. Proper prior planning prevents piss poor performance.
