I produce as little dumpable kitchen garbage as possible but there’s always a little something. Between Ian and Landlady we came close to filling the Jeep trailer. Then on the way out we stopped at D&L’s and picked up what little they had accumulated since our last expedition.

I just got a picture from Ian. Yesterday we loaded some .45 ACP for him and he stopped at the reloading shack to collect his leftover components before he headed out. Seems I neglected to close a window…

Small barn owl. He’s welcome to stay as long as he likes and help himself to a mouse or a rat or twelve – though I’d appreciate him not crapping them out on my counter. Which he probably will, if he stays.

Big bird = lots of guano

Western Screech Owl, I think, the gray morph variety. Definitely not a barn owl.

Picky, picky. Only owls I ever saw that wanted to come inside were barn owls. I hereby dub this one a reloading shack owl.

You have reloadng shack owl, I have fireplace owl. We had one fly down the chimney and get stuck in the fireplace. Special fun was had extracting him. Ever since that bird or one identical has maintained verbal contact when I am out in the back yard. I’ll miss him when we sell that house.
