…thanks to Landlady, who gets paid to help clueless users fix this sort of problem but did it for me free.
Wildblue decided to change my server, no doubt for reasons that seemed perfectly logical to them. The email informing me of this setting change – but not of what they had changed the setting to – was one of the messages I never received. Because they changed the server.
No, seriously, I love Wildblue. As I love blisters on my stump.

Love these little pointless exercises myself. My bank offered “on line” access to my account. I still get a paper statement, and seldom look at either one. Zeros tend to depress me for some reason. Anyway, there is a big security dance to set up and access the account, of course, and the worst part is that you have to access it at rather frequent intervals or your password becomes invalid. The only way to get a new password is to call the bank special number and go through a verification process to get one. I can’t understand one word in ten on the telephone anymore… so I’m out of freaking luck.
I told the lady at the bank that I needed to simply cancel the on-line thing. She said I had to call the “special number” and go through the process with them… she couldn’t help me.
Ah, that makes perfect sense… not. Nuts to them. They can keep the whole damned mess. I didn’t want a bank account anyway, but my pension will only pay into a bank account. sigh
