Enter the Pullets

Either one of the Rhode Island Red pullets has been laying an egg a day for several days, or several of them have been doing it sporadically. I don’t know which. But there has never been a day when more than one did it on the same day, until yesterday. I looked in the nest box and saw two, rooted around in the straw and came up with a third. Judging from the equality of the size, I think now that they’ve all (or at least three) been laying eggs for some time but just not every day. The eggs are still quite small (and the chickens aren’t full-size yet either) but they’re doing quite well. I can hope my days of dependency on Landlady’s chickens are drawing to a whoa.
