I’ve actually been here. There are times when, adrift in an unfamiliar environment and faced with a snap decision, the one you make proceeds to become an office legend that follows you around for a long, long time. Example:
An MSNBC reporter attempted to do a live report from a Nevada gun range on Tuesday.
It didn’t go so well.

“Kerry, I’m afraid we could not hear most of that, because the firepower was a little bit too great,” [Andrea] Mitchell said at the end of the segment. “We didn’t know you were going to be there today.”
I’ve been watching movies more often in the evenings lately, and have noted something non-shooters may not notice except with great surprise: Guns are loud. Guns are much much louder than movie guns tell you they are. If your only knowledge of guns comes from movies and TV, you may find yourself making noise-related choices that will not work out well for you.

Heh, heh, heh. Eh?
