As far as I can tell it’s edited together from 3 different security cameras. I’ve seen cats attack dogs, and heard stories about other cats attacking dogs. They’ll do it to protect territory, or food, or just because they hate dogs. I’ve never heard of a cat attacking a dog to defend a human, but that’s clearly what this one is doing.
Does a damn good job of it, too.

Or the cat thinks the kid is a future meal!…{;>)
I saw my cat jump on the back of a dog below it – the dog was unaware the cat was around – and that dog ran like lightning. It was just startled. The cat looked pretty pleased with itself, strutting away.
If you’ve got the time to kill, you can find several YT videos of cats protecting humans. Heck, Siamese cats are notorious for it (notorious, I say, because sometimes they get a little hazy on whether they’re protecting their bonded human or just running off potential competition).
You can still find the video on Failblog
“You go for a man hard enough and fast enough, he don’t have time to think about how many’s with him; he thinks about himself, and how he might get clear of that wrath that’s about to set down on him” ~ Rooster Cogburn
Reckon that’s true, regardless of the size who’s getting running up on and who’s doing the running up.
