It’s doing quite well so far. 🙂

I hate that it always blooms in March, because the chance of a hard freeze before the buds mature is – well, pretty much definite. Not that there’s any danger that the poor thing will ever fruit anyway. Looking at it, if you live in a more fecund area of the earth you’d have a hard time believing that this tiny ‘tree’ is closer to ten years old than five. But every year it grows a little more.
Needs a good pruning. Alas I never learned how to properly prune a tree.

This might help:

Damn it! I just wanted to post the link. What am I doing wrong?
Would putting a sheet over it help? Air movement like they do in orchards? Smudge pots, though you don’t have the tree pruned fuel supply? Just spit balling.
WordPress does that; post the link and it give you the video. Whether you want it or not.
Yeah, it just does that, Judy.
Thank you! And adding chicken manure might help.
The cows will be GLAD to “trim” that tree for you!
It’s the only one that survived, right?
If I’m remembering that correctly, unless it’s a self pollinator (most pears aren’t), you won’t see fruit on it no matter how well it grows.
But the flowers are pretty anyways. 😉
Growing in as harsh an environment as you live in Joel, that tree is doing very well. Prune it, and hit it with some nutrients and water then watch how it takes off. 🌳 👍
