Belgian Jews repudiate call for gun ownership
Belgian Jewish leaders denounced calls for their governments to issue gun permits to members of their communities this weekend, saying that such efforts could lead to harrowing consequences.
Last week, Rabbi Menachem Margolin, the Brussels-based head of the European Jewish Association (EJA) and the affiliated Rabbinical Center of Europe, sent a letter to senior officials in a number of EU states requesting that gun laws be loosened to allow “designated people” among Europe’s Jews “to own weapons for the essential protection of their communities.”

Belgian Jews were quick to distance themselves from Margolin’s comments, asserting that he does not represent their communities.“I think that he has no authority to speak in the name of Belgian Jewry because he doesn’t represent Belgian Jewry,” Abraham Guigui, the country’s chief rabbi, told The Jerusalem Post on Sunday.
This guy isn’t even suggesting that gun laws be loosened to permit individuals to legally keep and bear arms. He just wants to be able to arm non-state security forces. And even that was rejected as too radical. Not by the EU, by his own people.
Is a complete lack of any sense of history an actual requirement for being a European Jew?
The requirement is to be a dedicated victim.
I wonder if rabbi guigui has ever been to the Warsaw ghetto heroes memorial. you know, the one that honors a group of Jews who said WE WILL NOT BE VICTIMS.
The smart ones left generations ago. The dumb ones stayed behind, thinking to themselves “That will never happen again.”
Over the last few centuries, the Jews have been kicked out of almost every country in Europe. They would take all their skills, knowledge, and brains, set up shop somewhere else, and then they’d get kicked out of there too.
If I were a Jew, I would get off of that continent as soon as possible. Matter of fact, I’d do that even if I werent.
