I am thoroughly sick of this “eye appointment every two weeks” thing. I wanted this to essentially be the last one: They declare me cured, hand me a prescription for new glasses, and it’s over except for managing the glaucoma. Instead it was “not sure the eye is stable yet, come back in two weeks.”
I was moderately to quite pissed off. But then I had to go into Walmart afterward and it occurred to me that from the entrance I could read the big Toshiba sign on the back wall fairly clearly until I put on the drugstore reading glasses I’ve been using for distance and medium vision – and then the sign got a bit fuzzier. The glasses no longer help with long distance, and they used to. So maybe eye doctor guy was right after all, and I should wait before dropping $150 or more on glasses that won’t be right.

I did the Zenni Optical thing a year ago. It still cost big bux (of course this time the lenses won’t be as extreme) and the frames were trash. I considered it a failed experiment.
I had a similar stabilization problem w/ my cataract. I discovered Sams Club would replace the lens for free for the 1st year if my vision changed. They did so 3-4 times. Might pay to see what the Wallyworld policy is, since they are essentially the same company.
Maybe being able to,see the, other Walmart customers is not the best idea.
Coming up on 4 months now waiting for my eye to stabilize so’s I can get glasses from my retinal specialist. I coughed up darn near $300 on my own for Lenscrafters specs 3 months ago so I could go back to work sooner. A 2 week wait? Ha! Nuthin’ to it.
