DiFi escapes confinement, makes statement:

Dianne Feinstein announced Wednesday that she’s re-entering the battle over gun control during her keynote speech to the California delegates to the Democratic National Convention.

Feinstein was president of the San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors on what she calls that city’s “day of infamy” in 1978, when a former colleague shot and killed Harvey Milk and Mayor George Moscone. Since then, Senator Feinstein has been one of the most vocal proponents of gun control on Capitol Hill.*

She promised California delegates she’d return to Congress to reintroduce “an updated assault weapons bill.”

At the delegates’ breakfast, she said that, “Weapons of war do not belong on our streets, in our classrooms, in our schools or in our movie theatres.”

Yeah, it was just a “delegates’ breakfast.” Feinstein has never forgiven us for not embracing the AWB like good little proles. But still: At the convention, Diane? You really couldn’t restrain yourself at the convention? Where your Messiah is trying to rally the troops to get his exalted ass re-elected? Had you noticed that he’s about as popular as your beloved AWB, and has an opponent who actually seems to know how to campaign**?

Everybody knew you weren’t done trying to ban guns, Diane. It wasn’t necessary to blurt it out where reporters could hear.

*Dan White didn’t use a scary “assault weapon” on Milk and Moscone, unless Feinstein’s definition of the term includes police revolvers. I suggest a nationwide ban on deranged tax-eaters.
