You know the rest. I’ll keep you safe, no matter how many of you I have to kill to do it.
“Everyone out there is like all right we are going to eat. Beans, potatoes, brisket, burnt ends, ribs, it’s awesome,” Durkes said.
But when Kansas City health inspectors showed up just as they were about to pass out the food to 150 hungry and needy recipients, the inspector ordered about 700 pounds of barbecue to be thrown out. It was then covered in bleach to make sure no one tried to get it out of the dumpster.
“They were expecting lunch and for it to be a really good lunch and just having it taken away it was a bummer, we were all bummed out,” Durkes said.
Health officials say the food was destroyed because it wasn’t from a permitted establishment, and they couldn’t track where the food had been. Therefore, they couldn’t ensure it’s safety.

Terrible crime, that… being hungry without government permission. All this freedom stuff will have to go underground, the black market, and those involved will finally have to stop trusting their “protectors” for any kind of protection.
Once again we see the bureaucratic mind at work. Nobody wanting to take responsibility on a one in a million chance of a possible issue, better to let the hungry starve than face a black mark on a personnel file. This color blindness to the various shades of grey the world is made of is simply maddening.
Power. The raw, obscene, unreasonable exercise of power for its own sake. Bureaucrats do not experience the thrill of being creative, of being problem-solvers, of being kind and compassionate. They know, in their hidden hearts, that they are merely cogs in large machinery, at the bidding of their immediate superior. Their thrill comes from exerting their personal power over those who are forbidden to defend themselves. And in this case, also forbidden to eat.
If there is any scrap of a regulation that provides them with a bit of power over any other individual, they are going to seize on that scrap and use it to construct an entire edifice of statutes, rules, laws, and bothersome interference. There are so many things wrong, just plain wrong, with what these power-damaged individuals that I am without words.
Sr. Peter: “And how did you spend your time on Earth, Mister Clerk for the machine?”
Mr, Clerk: “Financed with stolen money, I spent my time imposing my will on hapless, innocent individuals just because I could.”
It all needs to be reformed, doesn’t it?
ff
Sounds like somebody missed their monthly bribe payment.
Interesting show of mindless power – they couldn’t show up before the food was cooked? or when the meal was being planned? and explain what permits were needed? Or help find a place where it could be cooked in compliance with regulations. Nope. Gotta prove that government officials have the power to take the food right out of your mouth and just what are you gonna do about it. I’ve done gleaning in past years for organizations that wanted to donate the vegetables and fruits to long term care facilities that take poorer people, schools in low income areas, no or reduced cost breakfast and lunch programs. They couldn’t accept the donated food because they were getting funding from our government, and only what the government provided could be served. No fresh vegetables and fruits for those folks no matter how much it might have improved their nutrition and health. ff, I can’t imagine how this intensity of mindlessness and evil can be reformed. It should be ended. Time’s up.
