You all know my buddy Ian, who runs Forgotten Weapons. For some years now Ian and I have had a running love/hate relationship with gun-related “reality” TV shows like Top Shot or the lately-infamous Sons of Guns. We love the fact that guns are no longer a verboten topic, but really hate the BS and fake drama. I was content to fulminate about it, but Ian decided to do something proactive. He’s had a secret project in development for some time, about which I had to remain silent because otherwise it wouldn’t be much of a secret.
Well, it’s a secret no longer! Introducing InRange.tv!
Here’s the trailer!
The first episode is up now, and they’ll be available monthly at $2.99. People familiar with Ian’s Forgotten Weapons videos won’t need assurance that they will contain some extremely high-quality informative entertainment. He promises no BS, no exploding targets, no zombies.
I’m interested to see how he’s going to get by without the zombies.

Dobyou know the source of the soundtrack music? The drumbeats would make the drive to work more entertaining.
No zombies? Well, forget it then. Seriously, WTG Ian!
Do you know the source of the soundtrack music?
I do not, sorry.
It’s a piece by Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com).
For an unknown quantity $2.99 an episode is pretty steep. For me, $1.99 is the limit and that’s for shows like MythBusters. After you have a few episodes in the can you may want to make #1 and #2 free or lower cost in order to attract more interest.
Re: the comments about sound quality comments over on the thread at forgotten weapons.
I’d probably already go too far on the anarchist thing for some of the regular commenters there, so I thought I’d better post the link here instead.
Jeff Berwick interviewd the guy a few weeks back who does the sound work for Freedom Feens and Bad Quaker.
In the middle he has some suggestions for broadcast quality mikes for about $60

I’m not sure what repeated close range exposure to full auto muzzle blast does for them though…
Now I need to earn some money to subscribe
