Well, then. There’s nothing scary about this at all.

Scary Manifesto that keeps getting pushed down on the sidebar by filthy capitalism!
They say that Louis XIV had the inscription Ultima Ratio Regum cast into all the cannon of the French Army. It means “The Ultimate Argument of Kings,” and that always struck me as one of the most honest and up-front things any ruler or would-be ruler ever said. “We can dress it up prettier than this, but when it comes down to the unvarnished truth this is what it’s about: You’ll do as I say or I’ll send my goons to kill you.”
I thought about that for a long time. If there’s an ultimate argument, it seems only logical that there must be an ultimate answer. For years I thought the ultimate answer must be the bullets in my rifle, but it never seemed quite right. I’ve got bullets – he’s got frigging Cannon Balls. I mean, if there were three hundred million rifles throwing bullets at him, then maybe. But we all know that’s not going to happen. So if there’s an ultimate answer to his ultimate argument, it sure as hell ain’t bullets.
It finally came to me – and that’s when I abandoned the city and most of my stuff, and gave all that was behind me a good stiff Randian Shrug.
The ultimate answer to kings is not a bullet, but a belly laugh.

Yes, I admit that it’s scary, but it’s really hard to blame the Turks. It’s not as if they haven’t been complaining about Russia ignoring their borders right along. Sometimes it takes a 2 by 4 to get a mule’s attention.
Sometimes, Ben, it takes a dead chimp. Even NATO admits the incursion was only a few seconds. But y’all keep on suckin’ that chimp.
Russia has killed more ISIS swill in the few days they have been bombing than the US has in the entire year.
Yes Mark, but it’s hardly the first such incursion. Imagine the screaming if Russia were to routinely do the same to the Florida keys? (An incursion that would only take seconds)
That business has the potential to get so far out of hand that each of us singly and collectively could be kissing our asses goodbye before Christmas. Let’s hope cooler heads prevail but I have my doubts. Russia announced they’ll be sending fighter escort on all flights. Plus, they moved a cruiser with expanded sea to air capabilities right off the coast. Turkey could easily lose their Air Force and then come to the NATO members for back-up.
NATO needs to get Turkey under control.
The Muslim in Chief has NO intention of allowing that, Matt. And Ben, it was NATO which says they were in Turkish airspace for a few seconds. Russia’s flight track for the plane shows they NEVER left Syrian airspace. And the filthy Turks admit that the plane was in Syrian airspace when the missile hit it.
“Russia has killed more ISIS swill in the few days they have been bombing than the US has in the entire year.”
Not surprising, since ISIS was a US creature. Perhaps an inadvertent one, but still…
“NATO needs to get Turkey under control.”
NATO needs to self-destruct. Ain’t been a Soviet Union for quite a while now.
