It’s Christmas in November at the Secret Lair.
What’s that you say? Why’s that scrawny old guy walking around with a .44 Magnum? Well, what can I say…
It even sort-of fits in my Fobus holster, which means I don’t have to wait dancing with impatience while the new (ahem – bespoke) holster wends its way to me.
Now if you’ll excuse me I still have some fondling to do. The bonding period is very important when they’re young like this.
Mazel tov!
Congratulations!
Mmmmmmm.
Is Taurus.
Is satin stainless.
Is ported.
Is Magnum, also able to handle all existing .44 Special ammo & components.
Is good.
Very nice Joel. So when will we see the after action reports of you going to the range and busting caps?
“So when will we see the after action reports of you going to the range and busting caps?”
Baring drastically inclement weather, I’m betting that “blessed event” has already occurred.
I like it!
And it’s good looking too! Enjoy!
I’ve read (no 1st hand experience here) that ported barrels and lead bullets have a little extra bit of cleaning needed, the port slightly shaving the bullet when it passes by. Also that shot loads are not recommended as a stray pellet may take a ‘short cut’ and exit the port.
Very cool handgun, it sounds like you found a match for your needs.
Earlier designs like Magna-Port were like that, I’m told. But this is really just an integral muzzle brake. The ports are in an open chamber at the end of and larger than the rifling, with a small round opening at the exit.
