Life goes on, given the slightest chance.

Put down that book and bring us … A SHRUBBERY!

Light posting today. No sun yesterday and so far none today. The batteries recover slowly and I’m currently abusing them.

On the kitten front, chaos and confrontations continue. Click is living in the yard, keeping Ghost company. She comes in sometimes in the morning, but I expect her to nail theses to the door at any moment. Little Bear is the only one who tolerates the baby, but she is not welcome to approach him. It’s not that he seems to dislike her, it’s just that she’s so unpredictable and those tiny claws are sharp. So she’s downstairs during much of the day but comes up into the loft with me at night.

This promises to be a busy weekend. S&L have scheduled a dinner party at their place tomorrow, and such affairs are not to be missed. L demands fresh bread and I will deliver. Please, gods, let it rise properly this time.

Other than that all is quiet. Too quiet, really – I gaze with dismay at unfinished work I promised Ian. Today’s the last feasible day to show any progress, but my back is still paining me so it looks like I’m gonna pay for my earlier sloth. Meanwhile it’s overcast, will probably rain later, and I’ve grown thoroughly sick of Monsoon. It’ll leave just in time for winter, no doubt, of which I’m always sick. Soon it’ll be time to start cutting wood.

Poured my last gasoline into the Jeep, filled Landlady’s water bottle in preparation for her visit tonight or tomorrow, and since most of my stuff is now under cover I’m instituting a crash program to clear the yard of junk. Hah. All in all I’m just kind of in a blah mood where all I want to do is sit at read my Tuchman. Under current circumstances A Distant Mirror may not have been the right choice.

Now I’m feeling guilty for encouraging the disruption of Click’s peaceful life. The good news is, this weekend your kitten can play with my puppy — from your posts, it sounds like they deserve each other. 😛
