There’s been a lot of ink lately about MAIG members quitting the organization because “They’re really just anti-gun? I honestly did not know that.”
As the linked article helpfully points out, that’s hard to take at face value.
That Bloomberg is in fact very much a “mayor for gun control” should have been readily apparent to anybody who has ever heard him interviewed on the subject. Likewise, it should have been painfully obvious to anybody paying even minimal attention that the word “illegal” is included in the nomenclature for aesthetic reasons only.
It’s good that they’re jumping ship and all, but personally I’ll hold the applause. They’re either disingenuously leaving a group that has their sympathy but is harming their re-election prospects, or their having joined it in the first place marks them as too stupid to hold public office. Rather like politicians of an earlier era: “The KKK is really just a bunch of bigots? I honestly did not know that.”

Hypocritical… you forgot that. Stupid AND hypocritical.
Just remember that, no matter what they say about guns, they have absolutely no problem with stealing our property and controlling our life – because they seem to truly think that the government OWNS us and everything we have. They just got a hand caught in this cookie jar and bailed out… but the OTHER hand is still in our back pocket, while their minions stand around with all the guns they approve pointed right at us.
Their whole life is built on theft and coercion, so I don’t give a damn what they say about anything.
Remember… they want to take our guns from us because they want to do things to us we won’t allow as long as we have guns…
