A little over a week ago we got the news that Mike Vanderboegh at Sipsey Street Irregulars is not long for this world. He’s been fighting cancer for several years, and sadly it seems that short of a miracle it’s about to win.
I’ll go ahead and confess that I haven’t always been Mike’s biggest fan, but not because I don’t believe he’s on the side of the angels. He’s been very busily so for years, and all that activity has left him rather less than wealthy, and now he and his wife Rosey need our help.
If you happen to be in his part of the country there’s going to be a bbq/fix-up party at his place early next month, and it could do with a crowd. Also of course contributions are going to be needed. Go here for details on that.
Response to David Codrea’s and Claire’s call for assistance has by all accounts been pretty sparse up till now. I’ve got no claim to righteousness on that score myself. But he has certainly fought the fine fight for a very long time and he deserves a little help now.
I posted on my humble blog today – lets keep passing the word into a groundswell of support! Better than sending money to some corrupt politician!
