I’ve got the whole floor covered in backer board except LB’s corner, and whether he likes or or not that’s the plan for the first part of the morning.
For the record, it’s “not.”
After I’ve convinced him to move his massive ass so I can do that – which is likely to be time-consuming because I’m running out of board so there’ll be some cutting and fitting of smaller pieces – then I need to move the woodstove and pull up the old tile from under it. The wall tiles can stay, but the floor tiles don’t match. That pad never fit the second stove very well anyway.

Gonna expand the “under-the-stove” tile area a little? Or do the new tiles take the place of those?
Yeah, as I said the old pad never really fit the new stove. I’m going to pry up the old floor tiles because the color doesn’t match, and when I’m done there won’t be a separate stove pad. The whole floor will be cement board and tile.
