Private to Bayou Renaissance Man…

I think this will probably solve my long-gun problem. Since the eye surgery I have superior long vision and utterly shite short vision, which makes iron sights a real problem. I can read fine with bifocals, but those lenses are tiny things at the bottom of my specs. Clearly time for optics. BRM sent this excellent scout scope some weeks ago and USPS helpfully sent it off into the aether. It eventually wended its way back to him after what seems to have been an all-expenses-paid scenic tour of the USA. He tried again, brave soul, and this time it worked.

An expedition has been dispatched for Lock-tite, and then I’m off to the range for some sighting in.

I’m not there yet, everything I shoot is now either slated for Hi Viz or really big tritiums like Xpress sights. I’ll bear that mount in mind.

  2. Expat says:

That’s one awkward looking gun. Wonder what the muzzle blast will do to the scope?
Try a 5 shot group offhand and let us know the results. Hell, maybe you’ll start a trend – or not.

  3. Brutus says:

What brand and power is that scope?

  4. Joel says:

    It’s a Leupold, seems like about 1.5X.

Expat, it is a little odd-looking but whatchagonnado? Anyway that particular carbine has had some odd things experimentally clamped to it over the years. Muzzle blast shouldn’t be an issue: It’s 7.62 Commie, not .50 BMG.

Just got back from LibertyCon to see this. Great! I’m glad it’s working for you.
