Rescue party

LB and I were out the door by 5:15 to go belatedly take care of Ghost. He’s a very old dog and there’s no way he held it for seventeen hours, plus he missed supper.

I did go out at about 6:30 yesterday evening to see if the crossing might be passable. But the water was still flowing pretty hard in channels, and you never know how deep it has dug those, plus the new mud was nice and fresh and thick. If somebody I liked were on fire on the other side I’d have shoved it in 4-low and gritted my teeth, but this wasn’t sufficient reason to risk the Jeep. So I went to bed early and got there ASAP this morning.

He was fine, he left a little puddle near the front door and was a bit put out about the supper thing but nothing took any harm. Now – hopefully – we’ll go back to our every-3-hours schedule.

It’s Monsoon. Nobody makes irrevocable plans during Monsoon.
