Landlady came by this weekend with gifts!
The same guy who earlier sent me $500 for new batteries kindly hit my Amazon wish list!
Once I’m sure I know it’s hooked up properly and working, this is going in the Jeep where one day it will surely save my ass. So far I’ve never absolutely needed one, but it sure did get close a couple of times.
Reader Cory heard my piteous outcries over the latest broken French Press, and sent me one I’m less likely to smash. Landlady and I inaugurated it immediately.
Away back in December I traded emails with Reader TB about eyedrops for glaucoma. I confess I’d forgotten all about it, but look what showed up today! Incredibly timely, too, because I didn’t renew my prescription yesterday for lack of funds. (I’ll be happy to get this cataract surgery thing off my plate, I am so very broke.)
Thank you, guys!

Wow, Joel! That’s some bounty. I don’t know (or don’t know that I know) TB and Cory. Great gifts from them!
I do know the generosity of that great soul, Fred, who sent both the battery money and your tire inflator. I, too, have been on the receiving end of more than one of his Random Acts of Kindness.
So where is this Amazon wish list? First I’ve heard, or is is secret?
Not secret exactly, but it was never intended to be particularly public either. It’s keyed to my “real” email addy, which I don’t flash around very widely. If you want, I’ll send it to you.
Thanks. I’d like that.
Re the tire inflator: “slime”??
