“That’ll getcha killed on the streets.”

I don’t really do gun forums anymore but I’m happy to hear that the same old arguments are going on in the same old way, over the same old trivialities.

😀 Hell, I’m old enough to remember people arguing endlessly over exactly the same topics in the letter sections of paper gun magazines. So – I dunno – get off my lawn or something. Where’s my Geritol?

I don’t do gun forums either, but if you have a comments section, the internet will pipe hot and cold running idiocy right into your pocket.

  2. I remember back in the late 80s/early 90’s when Guns & Ammo magazine would pad their magazine with “9mm vs. .40 S&W”, “10mm vs. 45 ACP”, “.380 vs. .38 Special” articles every single issue like it was some sort of journalistic Hamburger Helper used to bring that months magazine up to the required number of pages. This went on for years and years. The advocacy of the various caliber dilettantes was just as vociferous as the ‘Get You Killed In The Street’ crowd.

What about 327 magnum and the newest one 30 special. Bought a box of the the other day thinking I was getting 38 special. Now we will have a whole new round of pistols to trash.

A hundred years from now, IF humans still exist. They will be arguing whether 9 or 45 watt laser rifles are effective and “Street Capable”

Or if we continue as we currently are, the argument will be whether the 9 lb or 45 lb wooden club is better…

    See?

Any situation on-the-street where it might be appropriate to unholster can get you killed regardless of what you are carrying. Likely, many will get killed BEFORE they are aware that they are wrong-place-wrong-time and have not even though of clearing leather.

Like you, Joel, I don’t do gun forums any more. For that matter, I quit doing the survivalist forums and the other freedom sites as well. Reading the stuff in those forums morphed from getting the occasional piece of good advice to watching a major car crash of disinformation.
