The NRA: Is there nothing it can’t do?

Followed a rabbit hole down to this advertisement for a t-shirt* being hawked by the Coalition to Stop Gun Owership.

Anyway, get a load of the blurb:

In order to pass life-saving gun reforms at the federal and state level, we must break the stranglehold that the National Rifle Association has over our legislatures. CSGV has led the way in this effort by systematically exposing the extremism and malfeasance of NRA leaders who regularly promote racism, misogyny, homophobia, anti-immigrant animus, religious bigotry, anti-environmentalism, and insurrectionism. Put simply, they are not fit for polite company.

Holy cow. Truly, I had no idea. Throw in fire, flood, famine and pestilence, and the NRA would be worse than the four horsemen of the apocalypse. I am not a big fan of the NRA, as it happens, but have been familiar with the organization for many years (bought a life membership in the ‘seventies, not that I can get them to admit it now) and can’t think of a single example of racism, misogyny, homophobia, or any of those other terrible things.

Guess I’m just not very observant.

*It’s a “limited edition” shirt, which means they’re not even sure they’ll sell 250 of them, and won’t commit to print until they actually do. This is not the way a healthy, well-funded organization hawks swag.

That could be made into a worthwhile shirt. Below their “message”
“”Not One More” precious life!” add
Arm yourself! Protect your loved ones.

    I’d wear that. 😉

Great minds think alike, CH. I had the very same impulse. Actually considered buying one, and some paint.

Not sure it’s worth the copyright violation lawsuit, but it would be funny.

To the stake with the heretic!
