Just an experiment where the answer is “No.”
And you owe Czechsix five bucks. 🙁
I’ve got three “killed for fun” deaders and an unhealthy quantity of white feathers, and that’s all. There may be traumatized survivors in the trees, but I saw no sign of them.

Everyone said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one stayed up.
(We will consider this castle #1)
Hmmm… Ian, what was that definition again? You know… the one about doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results. 🙂 But, whatever makes you happy. 🙂
It’s going to traumatize Uncle Joel, however.
Experiments 2 through n won’t be exactly the same…everything improves with iteration. Just off the top of my head, I can think of significant problems with Version 1.0 of our power systems, trees, gardens, and water-pumping infrastructure.
Saw that coming.
Chickens need to be locked up at night, VERY securely. As Uncle Joel has discovered, domestic birds are virtually brainless and so far removed from their jungle and forest-dwelling ancestors they don’t stand a chance without a lot of human intervention. Good luck with future versions!
LJH Well that might be so but on my one trip to Kawai Hawaii (spelling ?) There are ferral chickens all over from an escape caused by a bad hurricane years ago. I do’nt know what the Hawaiian enviornment has .
Sorry some how missed what predators the Hawaian enviornment has.
Lessons are best learned while circumstances are good and things are replaceable. A few tweaks and better luck next time.
