This morning I’m off to help my excellent neighbors D&L move their stuff out of the storage unit they rented six years ago when they moved away from California, and into the absurdly marvelous strawbale/earthbag/adobe showpiece house they’ve been working on seven days a week since then.
They got their final sign-off from the inspector day before yesterday, and he paid them the compliment of saying no “alternate construction” home he had ever inspected came remotely close in size, complexity, or excellence.
I hope to bring back some pics when I return this afternoon, if the camera batteries cooperate. Their house still isn’t completely finished, of course, but at least the county is finally out of the way and they do plan to winter in it. So now they’re moving in the furnishings.
