From a movie I never heard of called “It Might Get Loud.” Yeah, with these three in the same room and enough electricity, it just might at that. Jimmy Page, Jack White and The Edge, just sorta jamming. Tell me you wouldn’t buy a ticket.

Scary Manifesto that keeps getting pushed down on the sidebar by filthy capitalism!
They say that Louis XIV had the inscription Ultima Ratio Regum cast into all the cannon of the French Army. It means “The Ultimate Argument of Kings,” and that always struck me as one of the most honest and up-front things any ruler or would-be ruler ever said. “We can dress it up prettier than this, but when it comes down to the unvarnished truth this is what it’s about: You’ll do as I say or I’ll send my goons to kill you.”
I thought about that for a long time. If there’s an ultimate argument, it seems only logical that there must be an ultimate answer. For years I thought the ultimate answer must be the bullets in my rifle, but it never seemed quite right. I’ve got bullets – he’s got frigging Cannon Balls. I mean, if there were three hundred million rifles throwing bullets at him, then maybe. But we all know that’s not going to happen. So if there’s an ultimate answer to his ultimate argument, it sure as hell ain’t bullets.
It finally came to me – and that’s when I abandoned the city and most of my stuff, and gave all that was behind me a good stiff Randian Shrug.
The ultimate answer to kings is not a bullet, but a belly laugh.

Could’ve found someone much more deserving to be in the same room as Jimmy Page and The Edge than Jack White…
What the hell was he doing there?
Open D tuning is fun. Amazingly easy to come up with something that sounds good with a slide.
Funny you should say that. A comment at YouTube understood why Jack White was there, but questioned the inclusion of The Edge. I can’t honestly say I’m familiar with either of them, since my musical elevator stopped going to the top while Led Zeppelin was still popular.
Probably everyone could agree that Jimmy Page could fill a room all by himself, though, and make anybody sound good who could keep up at all.
I don’t know much about The Edge other than his being in U2 and I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt due to that.
Jack White…..notsomuch.
I can think of a myriad of other players that would’ve hung with Mr. Page much better.
Reminds me….just found out about a month ago that Les Paul passed away while I was in the middle of a cross country trip. That man could play…
Yeah, well, Les Paul. He was in a completely different class. I had an album (yes, vinyl) of him jamming with Chet Atkins that could resurrect roadkill just from pure guitary goodness.
Hey. What’s wrong with Jack White? Just because he’s not old doesn’t mean he’s not good.
Sure I’d buy a ticket.
There happens in life thing we have the chance to participate in that we may not deserve other than being in the right place and time. I doubt anyone would turn the chance.
