The hallmark of just about every tyranny in history is a strong need for The Enemy.
This essential government position, historically filled by Jews, provides the tyrant with a relatively plausible explanation for why things have gone horribly wrong in spite of the Dear Leader’s flawless execution of his enlightened plan. Wreckers! Hoarders! International conspirators! They’re the reason we can’t get the trains to run on time or the breadlines to shorten up a bit. If not for The Enemy, everything would be going just fine.
The most important trait of a proper Enemy is expendability. Which makes the 21st century American version rather an odd choice.
Those white males who grumbled through the Oklahoma City frenzy will undoubtedly be surprised to hear that “White Males” are never treated as an evil class, as the writer seems to believe.
BTW, I’ve spent my entire life looking for this “white male privilege” of which the writer speaks. Could anybody tell me where I mislaid mine?
I’m far less likely to be harassed on the street by a cop compared to someone with dark skin, and I don’t have to worry at all about going to prison because I was the first young black man the cops spotted when they were looking for a “suspect.” While those things are true because I’m white, I think it’s more a matter of “government racist privelege.”
White Male Priviledge? Sure, got lots of it right here. I am priviledged to pay punitive taxes to support tax eaters. I am priviledged to be discriminated against for employment, education, healthcare, justice. I am privildged to be of the group that is accused of avery atrocity that occurs in the U.S. and in most other places of the world. Supposedly my group has also destroyed Mexico, the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, England and parts of Asia. Australia and South Africa too.
When the economy finally collapses because many of the White Male Privlidge class give up or die (to the joy of the non-privledged enlightened classes) we will be blamed for that too. We would likely be rounded up and sent to camps, but they need us to make the trains run on time and pay for the camps.
Oh good… another reason to be grateful for being a female. 🙂 Except, of course, that we get to pay all the taxes as well. And far, far too many of us are quite happy to be responsible for the atrocities of war across the world – in the name of “peace” and “democracy,” of course. sigh
