and to celebrate, here is without doubt the most annoying birthday song ever recorded by anyone, anywhere, anywhen. But there’s the right number of candles, so there.
Not bad for what was just supposed to be a short-term hobby blog to get me through a long, dark, cold winter, my first alone after T died, with not nearly enough propane thanks to some foolishness that would take a long story to explain. In terms of total traffic we’ve never been Tam or Unc, but the faithful readers and commenters (and contributors! A concept that took some getting used to) have certainly remained faithful. If I’m part of their morning, I have to concede they’ve become part of mine. And let’s not forget Landlady who paid my internet bill for quite a while.
Things have changed a lot around the gulch since the winter of ’08. People have come and gone, we built the Meadow House, M’s Dome and the Secret Lair. We got rid of a bunch of travel trailers, and there was much rejoicing. I’ve kind of gone my own way in developing a closer network with the neighbors. We’ve buried some pets and acquired (and eaten) some chickens. But looking back to that winter, the blog itself hasn’t really changed very much. And some of the folks who were here at the beginning are here still. Thanks to all of you, TUAK is still here too.
