What is best in life?

WRONG!

Indoor plumbing on a frosty morning, a toilet seat that doesn’t take skin off your ass, and a hearty “Flush!” with but a flick of a lever. That is best in life.

I totally agree that it is the little things in life like an indoor flushing toilet make living worthwhile. That “ start your day hovering over a cold, open port-o-potty in the depths of winter” thing makes for a not so pleasant experience.

I’m glad you got the water/baking issues dealt with.

The basics are as important as sufficient fiber in the diet. A little drywall, some insulation, and there you go. Congrats.

Friend of mine “damaged” himself on a stainless steel outhouse seat at a BLM camp ground on the Taylor Highway about 17 miles south of Chicken AK. A bunch of us went up that way to do a little Moose and Caribou hunting. It happened at 0400 on opening day. It was 14F as per the thermometer. He earned the call sign PITA that day. I don’t think he sat down on anything for the rest of the trip.

Spoken like a man who has his priorities straight, Joel.
I wouldn’t have said that in my twenties. Then again, unlike some folks who say they would, I would not want to be in my twenties again. It’s nice to be comfortable in your own skin, & in your life.
You forgot flannel sheets, but maybe that’s just my predilection. Screw Egyptian cotton high-thread-count: give me flannel.
