When the ground is freezing, it’s best if one of them has a backhoe. I’m afraid Neighbor L is in the process of losing the second old dog in far-too-quick succession.

Pack mates get attached to each other, the stress of losing one often destroys the other. We’ve had the same thing happen. Good on you for helping, I’ve dug a few graves for friends also.

BTDT know the pain. Condolences to L if it is the end for Maya.

Tough day it seems. Sometimes you just can’t catch a break.

I don’t know any details yet but at least for now things have taken a turn for the non-fatal. She’s coming home with some sort of medication. No grave digging today.

“No grave digging today.” A small mercy this close to Christmas. Nobody likes loosing a friend and it’s doubly hard this time of year. Hopefully Maya will have a a while yet.

A voluntary village can accomplish a great deal, Ben. The key is having a choice.
