Yes, I’m an unfeeling ratfink, but…

I seem to be the only person on the entire intertubz who doesn’t give a damn about Robin Williams.

To me he’s just this guy who was really funny once, then started making preachy chick flicks I suffered through to placate my wife. Along around Patch Adams I began to despise him.

He was really good in The Birdcage, though, as I recall.

About Joel

You shouldn't ask these questions of a paranoid recluse, you know.

Your not the only one, I am sick of the whining over his complete lack of fortitude. People all over the world have it a lot worse than this prick ever had it and they find the wherewithal to keep on keepin on.

No, I’m not ready to go there. I don’t know anything at all about his life and don’t feel a bit judgmental. If he really decided to check out, I figure only his family rates an opinion on that.

I just don’t understand what was so special about him.

I don’t watch movies or TV, so had very little exposure to his acting. I do know he was an “environmentalist,” had some socialist leanings, and was definitely anti-gun. Don’t need much more than that to turn me off…

I don’t understand either what all the fuss is about and it’s boring to listen to over and over. It’s interesting to me that when the world’s leading doctor expert who’d made a lifelong study of ebola and a lifelong career out of treating people with it died from it, there was not one fuss in the news over the knowledge and expertise that has been lost to the world. A well lived life with major contributions to science, medicine and the sick, and no one even knows his name.

I get why he did it. Depression is just a killer for some and others manage to deal with it until something else kills them. That said, I was over it about 11 minutes after I first heard about it yesterday. He was funny for a while then he just sort of became annoying when the whole random manic schtick thing wore off.

Nope, I’m not getting all the canonization proceedings either. Just another mental case who offed himself. We’ve all had trying childhoods. Get the hell over it.

I thought the 1st season of Mork was hilarious and I really liked “Jumanji”, but other than that I didn’t find him a bit funny or entertaining. I saw one of his improv shows and he seemed to base a lot of his humor on abusing other people. With all his drug problems over the years, I”m surprised he lasted as long as he did. Overall, I give him a meh… w/ a shoulder shrug.

Depressed, long history of substance abuse, offed, himself. No big deal.

He was a narcissistic, alchoholic, drug addict who only loved to be the center of attention and hear himself talk. When people stopped listening,he couldn’t take it.
    My two cents.
