…I wish you and your defense attorney well if you ever shoot somebody with it.
And yet…
Me kinda want.
I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it: When that sort of thing becomes popular, we’re seeing the re-normalization of personal weapons as a part of everyday wear. Which personally, I think is a good thing.

I would sooner carry a pastel MLP AR. And I’m not into ARs or MLP. Nor pastels, much.
Even aside from the liability issues, something about that design bugs me.* Admittedly, I don’t usually care for embellished weaponry (or holsters/scabbards/sheaths). Of course, a stroll through a museum suggests I’m in the historical minority on that subject.
(* You know you’d have to load that thing with Hi-Explosive Tipped Massive-Overkill Flesh-Shredder(tm) rounds just to distract opposing counsel from the gun decoration.)
Hmmm, I don’t know. Looking into the bore of the .45 – or even the 9mm – when I have it alone in my hand during cleaning…. something about that is awesome, even disturbing to me on some level, though I have no fear of it myself. I think such “decoration” would actually detract from the solemn, serious message inherent in the gun itself.
I agree that normalization of guns as a part of everyday outerwear is important. Just don’t think this would contribute to that.
But I’d love to figure out a way to inject it into the gun grabber’s worst nightmares. 🙂
‘Oh Grandma – what big sharp teeth you have!’
‘The better to blow your brains through the back of your skull my Dear!”
Meh for me, but the P51 Flying Tiger reference IS kinda cool . . .
Thank you for the picture.
I don’t see why having a gun decorated like that would involve any more liability than having an engraved gun. It’s really no different.
Anon, The Flying Tigers flew the Curtiss P-40B Warhawk.
Ah – your right, my bad, P51 MUSTANG. I hang my head in shame. Thanks for keeping it real.
Singlestack, it shouldn’t, but it does. Ask an attorney. Prosecutors and plaintiffs’ counsel in civil suits love to claim that “aggressive” decorations indicate that the user is an aggressively violent person. If you’ve noticed news stories that describe some mugger’s gun as just a “Black pistol”, that goes back to some of the civil suits against gun manufacturers. Often, the plaintiffs couldn’t identify the actual weapon (and thus the “proper” company to sue) so they just harped on the fact that it was “black” and all those companies made evil black guns because black is all ninja ‘n shit and appeals to violent people who do nasty things like shoot inoffensive, harmless knife-wielding muggers so all the evil gunrunning bastards should be sued into oblivion because their guns look mean.
The same argument gets used against defensive shooters who’ve modified their DC sidearm to make it “deadlier”- polished ramp, improved trigger, bypassed mag disconnect, even sights. I’ve seen people argue against tritium sights because it “encourages” people to make unsafe shots when there’s not enough light to properly identify the guy who broke into your house and is raping your wife. Seriously.
Ain’t right, but it happens and you should be prepared for it.
