Far more than usual, though nothing compared to what some of you are probably dealing with. Four, maybe six inches though it seems deeper in spots. Not much wind, which is nice because the temp hit single digits just before sunup and hasn’t climbed a lot since.
Looks like the temp’s gonna stay in the twenties today. Little Bear’s loving it, and that’s about as much good as can be said.
To my surprise, it’s been completely sunny this morning. I cleared off the small solar panel on the powershed and so my numbers are positive instead of the other thing, but the main panels are only now melting off – and it looks like a new cloudbank is moving in, so I’m really expecting more. But the forecast was for today to be completely socked in, so I’ll take it.
Hope you guys are staying warm. Signing off to charge batteries while I can.

It’s not really snowed much here the last month, but it’s been cloudy so much that I finally hung a flourescent light over the sun hungry orchids. Going back below zero by Saturday night, but still not much wind. We’re good. 🙂
Can you see any rodent tracks in the snow that would tell you their route to the Jeep or where they are living?
ZtZ: Are you trying to say that the little devils aren’t smart enough to cover their tracks?
How is 2015 working out for you so far Joel?
Zelda, as a matter of fact I can. Which is why I set a trap under the tarp covering an old generator I never got around to fixing, which is parked next to the driveway. Got a mouse last night, no rats yet.
Ben, FOMCL and ROTF. Wonderful mental image of rodents holding branches with their tails, sweeping the trail they leave, like a bit from a Monty Python skit.
Joel, it sounds as if your property is rodent heaven, with a choice of warm and cozy living spots. It’s the Cabo san Lucas of the gulch.
If your local town runs out of rodent traps just post a message and I’ll send a full box.
