Heh – that Outdoor Life thing escalated somewhat today.
I got an email saying they want to make a feature article out of their “My Favorite Gun” thing, which I gather they’re discontinuing due to lack of interest. And “Your entry is one we are considering for inclusion.”
Okay, I guess. Money would be better, but in lieu of that they offered me the opportunity to send them my pistol for proper photography. No, I’m serious. They want a professional pic, and if I can’t supply one “[would] you would be willing to ship us your gun (at our expense) to have it photographed.”
You would be amazed at how politely I replied. I certainly was. Do people really do that? Turn their guns over to complete strangers just to get the gun’s picture in a magazine?
Well, I didn’t do that. I did, however, take a little more care with a pic, given the limitations of my camera…

Click for embiggenment and see if you can spot the one bit of quick and dirty ‘shopping. 🙂

what, no serial number?
And UnReconstructed wins this little elbow of the Intertubes.
didn’t need to look at the pic to know what you’d ‘shopped out.
Send them your gun? Seriously? Even some people who like guns don’t always make sense. Idiots…
Send your gun to them? Some people lol!
Send them your gun… I’m sure that there are some people who would not have a problem with doing that. Who cares about the risk of the gun being lost, stolen or damaged by the USPS or the magazine not to mention some do-gooder placing your gun in the hands of the police where it would never be seen again without a court fight. I guess the depths of human stupidity have yet to be plumbed.
BTW nice touch with thee serial number.
