And now that I’ve aired out my hairshirt, this is an example of why people keep me around. Even if I do say so myself.

Landlady emailed and said she can’t come this weekend. Family issue. No problem, except that her girls are out of pellets.

They were agitated and upset at this news. Whatever would they do? Perhaps a mass panic is called for?
(In short, they didn’t notice. They’re always like that.)

No problemo! Mi chicken feed es su chicken feed. My two ladies hardly eat any, while the Brahma flock can empty a trashcan full in three weeks.

Meanwhile, and since it’s such a pretty day, there’s this new pile of scrap lumber. Can you picture it? Somebody was going to pay to have this hauled to do the dump.

I use a chop saw on pallets for my stove as well. Sometimes I get a nice piece or two of oak or other hardwood to use for other projects when sorting through the slats. I use a sawsall with long demo blad to cut the nails. Saves a lot of work, just have to watch nail position when using the chop saw.
Nice saw.
I used to leave the nails and remove ’em from the ashes with a magnet. Just don’t accept scrap with aluminum nails.
