The ink wasn’t even dry on this morning’s plan to spend the day alone when Neighbor D rang me on the phone, asking for help moving a bunch more of those 4X6 posts. A neighbor traded him a bunch of them in exchange for a Jeep soft-top, and I thought we were done shifting them but I guess not. No problem, D’s good company even with hard work, which this really wasn’t.

So that bit a couple of hours out of the morning, but I got back in plenty of time to catch up on laundry. Last summer helpful readers sent me a hand agitator and a couple of ten-gallon tubs, which help turn a tiresome chore into something really quite pleasant with moderate weather. And it sure is nice today: Not a cloud, moderate breeze and temps scraping 70o.
So I did some Jeep maintenance, including getting the tire pressure up where it belongs with a gadget yet another helpful reader sent me…

It’s not fast, but it works just fine. I keep it in the Jeep for emergencies – the one tire emergency I’ve had since then it couldn’t help much with, since it’s helpless against a torn sidewall. But for regular stuff it’s very helpful. 🙂

And now it’s time to stop procrastinating and get to the day’s messiest chore. Journal says it’s been a month since I cleaned the stovepipe. Much of that time I haven’t been using the stove, but still. Time to get sooty. Mild as the winter has been, we’re bound to get more cold weather before it’s really over.
Speaking of helpful readers, I’ve been remiss in checking the paypal account and noticed today that a couple of folks have tipped the jar a bit. Thanks!

Those little air pumps work a lot faster if you raise the tire off the ground. The pump only has to fill the tire and not lift the vehicle also.
