Winter has returned, in a desultory way, to the gulch. Two consecutive nights of snow. Wind like a flatlander wouldn’t believe. Not real cold, though the wood stove has been back in business. Not much sun.

I put off shit-shoveling this morning to let the snow melt. I’d rather deal with mud than snow, at least in mud I can find the shit. Comet the colt was in fine form. As long as there’s a fence between them he seems to get along with Cruise Control the miniature horse just fine, though I couldn’t get pictures of them nibbling each other through the bars. Put them in the same enclosure and Cruiser tries to assert dominance, which is funny to watch but not very effective.
Just as I was getting ready to go, Comet did something I don’t think his owners would find funny. The wind seems to have re-arranged some of the wiring for the solar-powered lights around his shelter, and he has dealt with them – with extreme prejudice.

Daddy’s gonna be mad at him…

Turn that light on and let him try and snack on that wire. Low volts are good for a laugh at the expense of others sometimes.
