For those who’ve been urging me to get a propane torch…

Sprang for one in the autumn. Hasn’t been of any use so far but may pay for itself the first really cold windy day when the smoke in the stovepipe doesn’t know which way to go.

propane torch is good. Best is MAPP gas. Learned about this in my pyrotechnic endeavours. Perfect thing for hand lighting pyro. MAPP is way hotter, AND it’ll burn upside down. Considerably more expensive….the TS-4000 will set ya back about $40 just for the head, but worth it…..

I run the green Coleman camping propane cylinder or the generic equivalent from Wallyworld on mine. Usually can get a two pack for around five bucks and they last forever.

Just FYI these work fine off regular green disposable propane cannisters, no need for fancy blue fuel. Might be nice to keep a canister of MAP gas around though in case you need it for more serious duties than fire starting.

Ah propane torches… I’ve had one around the house for little things for years. FYI the torch will run on the same cylinders you use with the portable Propane Buddy Heater I believe you have.
