At last, some clearing. I was promised clear skies for Monday, and when I woke to more overcast I wanted to crawl under the Lair and hibernate. But now that it’s too late in the day to do the batteries much good, the clouds have parted. Would have been a mighty pretty day if it had happened sooner.
I spent the morning grumping around and thinking about Michigan, which used to do this for weeks at a time and which I do not miss. Went out shit-shoveling, and found J was spending his day exactly the same way – except for the part about Michigan. So I guess it isn’t just me.
The good news, though, is that I seem to have finally shaken the worst of my paranoia about chimney fires. Unlike last winter, I’m not having any problems stoking the stove till the Lair is nice and toasty warm. Hope you guys are staying warm as well.

Good and timely thing about your woodstove acceptance and acquired level of experience. Those nice blue skies are dumping cold air on us. 7 degrees here this morning. Keep toasty.
Sending the response from Michigan here.
Sitting in Lansing, haven’t seen much of the sun for 2-3 days now, its about 27, spitting freezing rain and somehow its still 80% humidity
Lets just say its an acquired taste
