I’ve been down in the dumps the past few days because I pulled up lame in the middle of the Lair-siding project, and now it’s just sitting there mocking me. And the weather’s been weird: Rain in June? That doesn’t happen, except now it is.
But either despite or because of the cold spring and wet summer, it sure has been a good season for flowers. The cliff roses were twice as prolific as I ever saw them, the red-flower cactus was great, and now we’re surrounded by yellow-flower.
That one’s right in my front yard, where I’m always afraid somebody’s going to run over it.

Those look like what we have around here. Maybe “had” is the right word. I think all of our cactus has drowned by this time… It’s still raining.
Unbelievable.
My bet is that Ghost or Little Bear will only run over it once. Now the cows, on the other hand…
