TUAK has gone through a shocking number of Official Cameras, I’m afraid. The problem is that mechanical zoom, which cannot live with the dust. And no matter how hermetically you seal it away between uses, the dust always wins eventually.
For quite some time now the Official TUAK Camera has been a (donated, of course. They’re all donated, as they’re all doomed) Kodak EasyShare CX6200…

… which with a 2mpxl resolution is just barely good enough even for my rudimentary needs. And I tried to find a data transfer cable for it and was informed that they were last manufactured sometime just before the Cambrian mass extinction. But it had the great virtue of not possessing one of those mechanical lenses, so it lived quite a good time. In fact the camera still works fine, but unfortunately the card reader seems to have died. So for some weeks I’ve been stuck with the camera on my phone, and while Tracfones have their virtues I’m afraid camera quality isn’t among them. You probably noticed.
But yesterday a new care package arrived, containing this…

It has one of those unfortunate zoomy lenses, so of course it’s dooooomed. But it did come with a case, and I really will try to be careful with it. Between now and its inevitable tragic and senseless death, TUAK is back in the picture business. 🙂 You can click on these, and they get rilly big and detailed.

And also there were rawhide bones, for which LB says thanks.

Cool! I have the Cannon PowerShot A560. It does a great job, really, and the only problem is that it eats batteries fast, no matter what kind I buy. So I have to keep the batteries separate, which means I don’t bother to take many photos. You really can’t win. 🙂
I’ve had an A580 for many years. Still works great, even at 3-Gun matches.
Always Use The Neck Strap.
