Maybe I need a wind generator*…

My host has a clothes dryer, a luxury item which at home is possessed only by those blessed with really lavishly big solar electric systems. And even they only use them on the afternoons of good sunny days.

So I’m thinking I should keep up with my accumulating dirty clothes, right? I could wash them right now, this would be a good time, but I’ll have to wait for later for the dryer. The sun’s not even up. And what if it turns cloudy, like yesterday?

Oh. Wait.

*I made that up. I do not need a wind generator.

I don’t know about this, Joel. Seems you just MIGHT be having entirely too much fun there. LOL Just kidding, really. I’m glad you seem to be enjoying it after all the anxiety. But how is LB doing after the shock of being surrounded by so much strangeness?

  2. Joel says:

He’s doing better than I feared. He’s enjoying being off his diet. Sometimes he comes to me wanting something that’s not very clear – which is probably to be taken home – but if he were very anxious he’d be marking territory inside the house, and he’s not doing that. All in all he’s fine, but I don’t think he’ll miss the cholla.

ETA: Okay, now somebody’s using a jackhammer down the street and LB’s not having a nice time anymore.

AGGH, cholla! I had tons of it on my place in the desert, and one of the first things I did before the house was built was take a wheelbarrow and a shovel around to collect as much of it as possible. I burned it in the middle of the field. After about three years of doing this often, I finally got rid of it on my place. But there was always plenty of it lurking all around me.

    Hey Joel,

it’s good to see you get out once and a while and I’m glad LB is having a good time (except for the jackhammer) too. Your dispatches from the edge are certainly bringing a smile to my face. Keep up the good work, have fun and try to stay out of trouble.

To the stake with the heretic!
