That pizza actually looks good (except perhaps for the onions). These days they would call something like that a “Craft Pizza”, and charge double!

  2. Joel says:

I like onions. Big advantage of living alone: No arguments over pizza toppings. 🙂

  3. Judy says:

Good use of a hot oven.

Always curious about people’s pizza preferences, what do you like on pizza, besides onions? Pizza, something you can’t grow or raise on your own. Nom nom, think we’ll have us one tonight.

Mammal meat, jalapenos, cheese. Maybe bell peppers.

  6. Kentucky says:

Regardless of other stuff, cheese goes ON TOP so’s it can toast to that delectable golden brown . . .

    😉

Hard salami goes very well with peperoni and other meats, except for ham, ham should never be put on a pizza.

Looks good, pizza is a great comfort food. I figure if you got it toss it on top and in the end it all tastes great. Onions are great to use as a defense to the close talkers. The only exception is anchovies, not a fan but if you like then indulge yourself.

As for me, all I will say is it must be nice, I’m a pizza junkie who is also diabetic. sigh. I have a couple of slices and the sugar goes through the roof so that limits things. I know it sucks to be me. :^)

In the old days, on Friday after I’d cashed my check I would toast another week successfully endured with a pan pizza topped with beef and onions. Many years later I discovered the joy of ham and pineapple, a combination I had to be coaxed into trying because pineapple? Seriously? Of course ham goes with everything, which is why when Sharia is declared throughout the land I’ll just have to die heroically. They may take our lives, but they’ll never take! Our pork-based pizza toppings!

  10. Kentucky says:

In our small town it was pineapple and Canadian bacon.

    Canadian bacon: really thin-sliced ham.

    😉

M J R – I’m ignorant of the diet restrictions for diabetes but wondered whether you have tried making your own pizza crust using the artisan bread in 10 minutes a day recipe for whole wheat dough. There is no sugar and no fat in that recipe, and whole wheat (or half whole wheat and half white flour, what King Arthur calls white whole wheat) might not spike your blood sugar so quckly. If you make your own tomato sauce (marinara sauce) you can do it without sugar. So many store bought products now have sugar in the form of corn syrup or sugar or some other form of sweetener. Homemade food tastes better and doesn’t need added sugar. The artisan bread recipe is in my refrigerator, ready to use for anything.
I’m a pizza junkie too, also an anchovies on pizza person, love the contrast of salty anchovies and tomato sauce and an overload of mozzarealla cheese sometimes with some kind of vegetable. But any pizza topping is better than no pizza.
