(Sigh) Ah, well. It’s like I’ve always said…

Goods are more valuable than green.

I got paid Thursday for all the back-and-forth of the previous six days. I had a list of stuff I hoped to spend it on. The pile of money actually helped a lot with the list. There was nothing fun on the list at all, but my commodities are in better shape and I can secure that door.

Last night my second-to-last propane bottle sucked dry. It was excellent timing. Now all my fuel containers and both feed barrels are full.

So far so good, and no surprises. But then I went to the hardware, and that was kind of an unpleasant surprise…

Half a week's pay on a doorknob set, two pieces of quarter-round, some caulk and a package of Sawzall blades. Robbery.

And my wallet is empty again. But my fuel and feed containers are all full and the addition work continues. I should now be able to seal up and open the passage to the addition without further expenditure.
