“It’s always the same damn tire!” Yeah, well, maybe there’s a reason for that, Joel.
There comes a time in the life cycle of a set of tires where you start getting a lot of punctures. It’s the time known as “you need new ones.” And since that’s not going to happen, I’m a big believer in tire plugs.
But when the newest leak is next to the plug you inserted that’s next to the last plug you inserted, it’s time to acknowledge defeat. I actually had my plug kit out and was preparing to bore yet another big hole when I came to my senses. I’ll mount the spare and see if I can get the local shop to go along with the joke long enough to unmount and patch it.
Hell of it is: I know how I can raise $150, which will be almost enough to buy a Wallyworld tire to replace this one – and leave me just a little further behind than I am now. Ah, the life of a hermit.

Joel, got 2 words for you; Inner tube. It’ll last till you go over the same sharp rock again.
Also Slime! Shove a big bottle of it in the tire and drive. As long as you don’t drive at highway speeds, it should last till you can see the cord in the tire or have a really big tear. I drove about 80 miles on desert roads once on a tire w/ a torn sidewall plugged with slime and half a t-shirt..
