There you go wanting me to communicate and all…

My financial arrangements can be exceedingly complex considering the small sums involved. I have no bank account. Heaven knows I have no credit cards. I have no post office box, let alone a physical address that would make any sense at all to a mail carrier. “Is that the turnoff next to the dead tree? Or the one where you have to dodge that big rock? Okay, but it’s to the north of the mesa, right? No, not the one shaped like Machu Picchu, don’t go there, that’s the sorta-cult run by the transy woman who looks like John Wayne…”

"In a hard and holy place whose very name is never spoken..."

“In a hard and holy place whose very name is never spoken…”

My point – to the extent that I have a point – is that sometimes the lines of communication are tenuous, and sometimes they break down when they weren’t supposed to. Which is why I haven’t acknowledged a couple of generous donations that came in weeks ago. Because I didn’t know about them. Normally when I fail to communicate it’s genuine neglect on my part, because “good communication skills” are not on the list of requirements for the job of Hermit. But in this case I acknowledged them as soon as I learned of them.

Which was weeks late. 😉 Sorry.

How do ya get your SSI check with no physical address ? Wondering cuz soon I’ll be getting one, bad as it be 62 is approaching and I’d just as soon drop all the bank accounts and such…

I don’t get SSI, so it’s not an issue I’ve had to deal with. But probably they’ll go along with a mail drop, and certainly a PO box would work.

Hmmm, and then he wondered if the Hermit had heard that the SS boys and girls used either direct deposit to the bank account (whoops, not available) or a direct access debit card.

    No checks to be found.

  4. Joel says:

    Nope, hadn’t heard that. 🙂

Not surprised, though. I understand foodstamps have really been a debit card for a long time.

Debated about posting, wasn’t sure if you would want to know or not. Figured you seem to value your privacy so ….. you might want to quietly remove this picture and also the picture you have of your local feed store (sorry, can’t remember which post it was), those 2 images make it possible to narrow down your location and therefore find you on google maps.
